Seiko Arctura
The best way to describe the Seiko Arctura would be to call it a watch that is both casual in attitude and inspired by a speedy look and feel. The reason why Seiko named this watch “Arctura” is because it comes from the word “Arc”. Arcs appear in nature and symbolises a connection between various powers and phenomena found in nature such as wind, water and earth. The design of these watches echo’s that symbolism with their round and very accurate designs. These 2 design features dominate this watch which helps it to exude an eco-awareness about them.
Seiko Arctura watches are made of stainless steel and in some places rubber is also used. These watches will have a sleek and aerodynamic look about them. The watch casing and the bracelet are connected in a smooth and seamless way. This aerodynamic design quality is achieved by using what is known as fitting bracelets..
In most cases the Seiko Arctura watches come in black and white dials. At times the hands will be given a blue coating to help increase visibility. This also will give it good aesthetic appeal. The shape of the hands is described as pyramid shaped which help with the overall aerodynamic look and design of the watch. On the whole the dials exhibit high clarity, which makes it easy to look at and read the time. The bracelet has only a limited number of links which add to the overall aerodynamic look.
Seiko Arctura watches are also available in ladies only designs. In these watches diamonds replace the sharp indices. Both the men’s and ladies watches come with kinetic movement. Seiko is a pioneer in kinetic movement watches. Kinetic movement means that the watch is being powered by the movement of the hand. This means it does not rely on external sources of power such as batteries or winding.
