Seiko Premier

With the Premier, Seiko leaves the sport type of watches and enters the world of dressier and casual style of watch making. Instead of the function oriented watches with all their inherent features such as the Sportura and Velatura, the Premier will have a more “dignified” look about them. This is achieved by the conservative look such as the colouring and the use of Roman numerals. The hands will resemble long swords rather than the thick bulky hands found on the Velatura. The subdials are placed neatly around the main dial which gives it the look of balance and harmony. Basically with the Premier Seiko departs from the adrenaline packed sporty design found in its other models and goes for a cool and dressy look.

With all these combinations, Seiko manages to bring together an eye-catching and effortless style which resembles Seiko’s classic design, the Seiko 5. In the midst of all this classy design, Seiko did not forget to add functionality as well to the watch. Seiko Premier comes with kinetic perpetual calendar, kinetic chronograph, alarm chronograph and a power reserve indicator. The design of the watch will depend on the functionality. If you want a watch with chronograph function, then the main time telling watch will be lowered to the six o clock position.

Seiko premier comes in both men and lady’s styles. Some of the men’s style will have designs such as two tone stainless steel and with a little colour added to the dials. But on the whole this watch will keep things more on the formal side. The ladies watches however will be a little more whimsical in design. The dials will have diamonds and mother-of-pearl attached. Both men’s and ladies watches will have straps or bracelets available. As far as movement goes, Seiko premiers use the trademark kinetic movement. The main advantage of Kinetic movement is that the watch will work on its own power, derived from the wearers hand movement. This makes the watch free from batteries and winding.
