The Sportura model of watches is one of the best selling designs of the Seiko Watch Corporation. The reason for Seiko Sportura’s success is because of its unique and focussed character. It exudes a cool and confidant charm which can only be got from a watch such as the Seiko sportura. The watch comes with chronograph functions and several tracking options. This watch was clearly inspired by motor sports and looks stylish like some of the other Seiko products. It is clearly a watch that exudes both function and style.
Even though it has balanced both style and function well. The hands are designed to be large compared to the size of the dial. In fact when one looks at the watch it has the resemblance of looking into the cockpit of a high performance car. Part of this look comes from Seiko’s use of coloured parts such as red and orange. Seiko Sportura watches come in two different movements, kinetic and quartz movements. Kinetic and quartz movement was pioneered by the Seiko Corporation. Kinetic is a type of technology which takes the movement of the hand and converts it into power for the watch to function. The main advantage of this is that it does not need batteries to run and is completely energy independent. If the watch is left unmoved for long periods of time, it will stop functioning. This is not a problem because the watch has an inside calibre which keeps track of time. This means that once you start wearing it the watch will reset itself to the correct time!
